Ankle Bruising

2016/7/22 10:06:58

Question
Hi,
The other day at track a friend of mine noticed bruising on my ankles. They are on each ankle, in the joint area, and about the size of a silver dollar. THey are both a light purpleish pink color and do not hurt when I touch them.
I have had no injury to that area and have never had complaints from running pains. So I don't think I bumped into something. My friend suggested that I may have slightly low levels of vitamin k, which is involved in blood clotting and bruising. Any ideas on this theory?

Answer
Hi Meghan
I really couldn't pin point the situation, but with all the tendons and ligaments that support the stability of the ankle it is possible that you just strained some.Do a google search of the words ANKLES BRUISING where you will find a lot info that you might be able to relate to your situation.Sorry i couldn't be more help.I don't think it is a nutritional issue.

All the best

John
