Elliptical and Jogging

2016/7/22 10:06:49

Question
Hi,
I have a question. I'm fit and I can do strong elliptical work straight through for an hour and get off the machine just fine. However, I just started jogging and I'm having a very rough time. I get exhausted and easily out of breath in no time. So, my question is, what is the difference between elliptical work and jogging? Why is jogging so tough? Or, maybe it's just tough for me. I just find it very interesting that I can do strong elliptical work and yet can't jog.

Thank you for your time!

Answer
Hi Ivette
When you run it is also a form of weight lifting, lifting your legs and body weight off the ground many times depending how far you go.It will take time for your muscular skeleton system depending on your history of training to adapt, but in time you will be fine.Just gradually work into it and be patient.Focus on just running at a comfortable relaxed pace regardless how slow.I hope that answers your question to your satisfaction, but if yo have other questions just get in touch Ivette.

All the best

John
