Question
Hi John. I'm coming off of a series of injuries...pelvic fracture and hip tendonitis. I just started running again and focusing on getting my baseline back. I will start marathon training towards the end of February with a goal of qualifying for Boston in June. I am considering adding P90X into my training schedule which means 4 days a week of twice daily workouts. Would you recommend this or will this hamper my running? I could focus on doing a couple of the P90x workouts on my crosstraining days but not sure which ones would help my running. I don't want to jeopordize my running or sacrifice miles....I will need both to qualify for Boston but I do want to get stronger and prevent further injury. Thank you for your help.
Answer
Hi Carly
There is nothing in the p90x program that will help your running and in fact you could injure yourself easily. The best cross training tool is and up right stationary in which you can do anything on the bike that you can running.Example if you run a 21/2 hr long run you do the same on the bike and same with any other workouts. The best alternative for success is hire me.
All the best
John
