Question
I want to get back into running again and it has been 16 months since the last time because I was pregnant. I have gone three times about 4.4 km. I love it, but my one knee is bugging me really bad. It hurts on the top left when I walk upstairs and just exercise, and about three days ago my last run outside the bottom right part of my knee ending up getting really sore and actually swelling up. It is I am going to far to soon? What kind of knee exercises do you suggest that I do for my knee. Help I ove running!
Answer
Hi Bobbie
You have symptoms of a slight case of chondromalacia which is a very common situation. It basically a tracking and alignment situation and just coming off carrying a little one that easily could of added to that. The best thing you can do to help correct that situation is up right stationary bike workouts as often as you can.I would give your running a break for a while and just focus on the bike till it clears up.The most important thing is in rehabbing you have to have a great great deal of patience. If you have other questions just get in touch or call me here in albuquerque anytime.Go to web site for contact.
All the best
