Great to hear about your newfound passion, sounds like me all over again! Running is an addictive sport, and once you do check your Ego, as you so nicely put it - it is something that you can continue to do and increase mileage on as you get healthy.there are people that average 10 all the way to 130 miles + a week, it really depends what kind of runner you are, what you are training for, etc.

To help balance your running though and build goals, I'd think about maybe starting to layer in some races, half-marathon, marathon, 10k, 20K, 30K, etc...

This will help give your running meaning and direction, as you question now how much you should do, how often, etc...these will give you a great sense of worth and make you stronger, faster, healthier, and so on.

Let me know if I can help with training programs, nutrition tips, etc...

good luck
