Stewart Elliot riding at Belmont 04

Question
When Smarty Jones slowed down near the end of the final straight-away, he also turned his head a bit to the right.  I also saw Elliot appear to lose the right rein twice and lose the straight-ahead focus/energy that I saw in the rider on the winning horse.  Did Elliot make a mistake?

hi  i do think that the horse was doing his best at the top of the stretch and if stewart did something you noticed, he prob did it for the horses benefit. he knows that horse good so he peob did that for a reason. anyhow the horse is still the best horse we have at thistime and will do his best always thanks ED HESS
