Handicapping system

Question
Hi Mike, I like the horses but prefer the dogs. Why? Less variables. I cant seem to weigh all the variables properly with the horses. If you have a horse program you may have my problem. I've writtin about 2000 systems (computer) to pick the dogs changing a variable or two slightly when each goes sour. I've wound up with a couple that work well but my question is this; why does such a system work well for a period of time then suddenly, using the same exact variables, it gets totally lost. Then after awhile it works fine again but only for time. I'm not second guessing myself because the computer treats the variables in every race the same. Have you experianced this with horses? If I could nail this down I could retire. The only thing left is the races are fixed. -bg

I DO NOT LIKE TO EVEN MESS WITH DOGS. AS MY FIRST WIFE WORKED AS A DOG TRAINER.AND SHE TAUGHT ME A FEW THINGS...ONE OF THEM IS IF YOU WANT TO SLOW A DOG UP!!!!
GIVE HIM LOTS OF WATER BEFORE A RACE..MORE VARIABLES THE BETTER .I USE 13 OF THEM.AND THEN I AVERAGE OUT ALL THE ENTRIES,NAIL IT DOWN TO THREE OR PROBABLES AND THEN MAKE MY FINAL SELECTION,ALL THE VARIABLES ARE TAKEN FROM BASIC HANDICAPPING.ALL SYSTEMS WORK FOR A WHILE,TRUE THIS TELLS ME THAT YOU WATCH IT VERY CLOSELY.WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS I PAID YOU A COMPLIMENT.AND YOU DON'T SECOND GUESS
AND ALSO YOU MADE THE STATEMENT RACES ARE FIXED.AT SOME TRACKS THEY ARE.ALTHOUGH THERE ARE TRACKS I WILL NOT GO OR WAGER UPON.BECAUSE EVERY TIME I LOSE A RACE I REVIEW THE RACE AND ASK MYSELF THE QUESTION,WHY DID THIS HORSE WIN? I
