Dreamer-The Movie
Question
I saw Dreamer last night with Kurt Russell. During the movie they mention a horse that came back from a major leg injury-like movie plot, and came back to win a graded stakes race against Serena's Song. Who was that horse, and is the movie based on that story. The movie promotes itself as based on a true story. If it wasn't the horse that beat Serena's song, what was the horse's name, and is the movie somewhat accurate.

I DO A LOT OF TRAVELING.AND GET AWAY FROM IT.I HAVN'T SEEN THE MOVIE (DREAMER) YET. A LOT OF MOVIES PROMOTE THEMSELVES
AS BEING BASED ON A TRUE EXPERIANCE BUT USUALLY,THEY GIVE SOME INFO ON THAT IN THE SCREEN CREDITS.BUT I'M SURE THERE
ARE A LOT OF STORIES ON THE BACKSIDE OF YOUR LOCAL TRACK.I CAN REMEMBER AN INCIDENT WHEN A HORSE WAS PUT OUT TO STUD AND WAS BROUGHT BACK AT SANTA ANITA,AFTER BEING AWAY FOR
A YEAR AND A HALF, THE HORSES NAME WAS DOC JOCOY AND HE PAID BIG BUCKS . HE WON FIRST TIME OUT.SO NO DOUBT IT WAS A TRUE STORY,AND HOLLYWOOD ADDED,IT'S GREAT BAG OF ILLUSIONS.
