Racing History

Question
Years ago I was part owner of two race horses.  I am trying to find any history of their racing.  One horse was named "Devoted Love" and the other was "Perservere" (Yes, it was misspelled).  Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Answer
Dear Mike,
The Jockey Club is the official keeper of the where are they information, atleast if they are alive and racing, or if they have foaled.
www.jockeyclub.com or www.equineline.com will take you their database, look for "reports", then you will have to purchase with a credit card (they are very secure I assure you) a "race record" or a "produce record (if filly)"
You will see a long list of reports to choose from, choose the least expensive race record, then put your horse name in.  Leave the other spaces black unless you know the dam and year of birth for sure.
If the horses were retired from racing during your spell with them, then you will have a hard time finding where they are now.  If fillies, then a produce record is ideal as they are most likely foaling each year for someone.  The report will not however tell you who owns the horse or where they are for privacy reasons, but you can try to trace the offspring through their auction venue to find the mare.  I can help you with that if you need it.
IF the horses were colts, race record is all you have, contact the final owner and ask them what they did with the horse.  Hopefully he will tell you they found a good home for the horse, etc.  But of course we have all heard far worse stories than that.
Best of luck to you, and call me when you are ready to do again, we can help you invest your money for fun AND possible profit, in more than racehorses which is the hardest road of all.
Sincerely, Lora Brown  at Dapple Bloodstock in Lexington.
