request information on bloodstock

Question
hi....i am 25yrs and want to pursue my career as  bloodstock agent.....i ve no previous knowledge in horses....are there any schools or institutes/colleges/courses where i cud start from

Answer
Chetak,
The best way to become a bloodstock agent is to get involved in the business, and just keep working at it.  It takes years to build up the knowledge of pedigrees, conformation and market wants/needs that you need to become a good bloodstock agent.
You could start by getting a degree at the University of Kentucky or Arizona, and then enter the industry as an assistant trainer or assistant farm manager.  This would allow you to earn a living while learning about pedigrees and the market, or you could start as a groom and work your way up without the degree.  Either way, you're embarking on a long journey, if you currently don't know anything about horses.
You might also want to subscribe to as many industry magazines as you can find, like the BloodHorse magazine and the Thoroughbred Times.
Good Luck,
