Stumbles in gallop, not breezes
Question
My 2 yo filly recently stumbled and fell during a routine gallop. She was not injured. Her works before and after this fall were fine, and at good times (#2 and #6 for the day). The rider said that she tends to drop her head from time to time, but is not sure if that is a habit or if she is weak in the rear. Do you have any thoughts on this based on your experience?
Answer
hi-- well some horses do tend to gallop with their head down, just a off and on thing with some horses. you can always have the vet check her back end out, to make sure she is not suffering from a back end problem. you may want to try a shadow roll on her to gallop her and see if she keeps her mind on galloping thanks ED HESS
