horse training`

hello i actually have a couple questions for you..
i have 2 thoroughbred mares and the one i have had for a about a year  .. she has been off racing scince 2000 and then went into breeding and had 7 foals.. i have been training her to ride english and western but i am having trouble finding a bit that she doesnt try running through.. i have tryed her in a port. tomb thumb, dee ring with rollers, a french link and a draw gag.. right now for western she is riding amazing in the S hack i have on her. but i have a show coming up and money is a little problem so i need a cheaper solution for english.. i cant ride her in the S hack.. so what do you suggest i use??

next question this same mare:  i would like to know how to get a headset..

hi well the S hack does not go in her mouth, so maybe she has a problem with her mouth . have you checked her teeth etc  ?? .she might have a cut or sore in her mouth and the bits are bothering her. i am not sure what you mean by a headset thanks ED HESS
