bits not cleaned properly
Question
Hello sir, if a stable has got 20 horses and the owner can afford only 8 snaffles. It抯 a must for him to clean every snaffle immediately after use so as to be used for other horses. If the bits are not cleaned properly, what infections do horses suffer from??
Answer
HI-- WELL YOU CAN GET A bucket OF WATER AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF BLEACH AND DIP EACH BIT IN IT ,AFTER BEING USED ON THE PREVIOUS HORSE. THEN THOROUGHLY DUNK THE BIT IN FRESH CLEAN WATER OVER AND OVER AND to MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAN, THEN YOU CAN USE IT ON THE NEXT HORSE. YOU COULD TRANSFER A COLD FROM HORSE TO HORSE. IF YOU CLEAN THE BITS THOROUGHLY YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS Ed Hess
