your training experience
Question
hello sir, you are training racehorses since 30 odd years. how was your first season of training racehorses? was it good? did you earn good wins in your first racing season? is training racehorses difficult? how should i motivate myself to train racehorse? actually, i want to become a flat thoroughbred racehorse trainer. please give me suggestions for me to be sucessful!!
Answer
HI I STARTED BY WORKING ON HORSE FARMS, CLEANING STALLS, RUBBING HORSES, GALLOPING HORSES AND ALSO WORKED ON A BREEDING FARM FOR AWHILE TO LEARN ALL I COULD ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THE HORSE. I WORKED AS A GROOM ON THE RACE TRACK FOR SOME TIME BEFORE I GOT A JOB AS A ASST. TRAINER FOR A TRAINER. I WORKED FOR HIM FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR DOING ALMOST EVERYTHING HE TOLD ME TO DO TO LEARN THE BUSINESS. I BOUGHT MY OWN HORSE AND TRAINED HIM FOR 6 MONTHS AT THE TRACK WITH THE TRAINER BEFORE I EVER THOUGHT ABOUT RACING HIM. HE HAD A CHIP IN HIS KNEE AND I HAD IT TAKEN OUT AND GAVE HIM 6 MONTHS REST AND 6 MONTHS TRAINING BEFORE HIS FIRST RACE. I THEN GOT MY OWN LICENSE AND STARTED TRAINING ONLY MY OWN HORSES TILL I STARTED TO WIN RACES. THEN I WAS ASKED TO TRAIN SOME OTHER HORSE FOR OTHER OWNERS AND I WAS OFF TO MY CAREER AS A TRAINER. I TRAINED FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND I WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT IF HAD IT ALL TO DO OVER AGAIN. IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A TRAINER THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO START AT THE BOTTOM AND WORK YOUR WAY UP TO BECOMING A TRAINER. LOTS OF HARD WORK AHEAD OF YOU FOR SURE.THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WHO WILL HELP YOU OUT AND TRAIN YOU TO BE GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO. LOOK FOR A TRAINER THAT NEEDS TO HAVE SOME GOOD HELP IN THE STABLES AND HE WILL TRAIN YOU IN ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW TO BECOME A TRAINER. IT IS NOT A OVERNIGHT THING, YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK AND EARN IT. I WISH YOU MUCH LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE ,BUT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WILL HAVE TO MAKE IT COME TRUE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU THANKS ED HESS
