how to tell if a horse is travelling well

hi,

i like watching and betting in horses, i would like to know how you can tell if a horse is traveling well during a race, sometime you can tell when the other jokyes are trying really hard on a horse and some aren't trying so hard.

what else do you look for to tell if the horse is travelling well or not?

or if he doesn't like the ground? anything would be greatly appreciated

HI WAYNE, IF THE HORSE LIKES THE GOING THEY WILL RUN A GOOD RACE AND TRY TO RUN. IF FOR SOME REASON THE HORSE DOES NOT LIKE THE GOING THEN THEY WILL NOT PUT OUT IN THE RACE. SOME HORSES WILL RUN MUCH BETTER ON THE TURF BECAUSE IT IS A SOFTER GROUND ON THEIR FEET. YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE PERFORMANCES TO SEE WHAT KIND OF GOING THE HORSE LIKES THE BEST. SOME HORSE HAVE A TERRIBLE WAY OF GOING WHEN RACING, BUT STILL WIN RACES.I WOULD LOOK FOR HEAD BOBBING , CHANGING LEADS AT THE WRONG PART OF THE RACE, RUNNING TOO WIDE IN A RACE. THANKS Ed Hess
