4yr. gelding during racing is cheating

after the 10th race going 6f or 1m in a race the gelding will be out in the front two and will shut down about the 3/8 pole.  he is not displacing and is not sore.  after the race he comes back wanting to play and bouncing in the shedrow.  he has run in partial blinkers and it seemed to make him nervous, so we took them off.  he breaks on top out of the gate.  what else can we do before we completely give up!  we are going to give him one more chance.  please help with any suggestions you may have we can try!!  thank you

hi -- well sounds like he may have a breathing problem or he needs a tongue tie and a figure 8 to keep his mouth closed during the race. usually it is one or the other when a horse stops in a race. it is either  soreness or breathing .now this may sound kind of out of context, but you can have a physic come to your barn and read the horse and they can tell you if they find anything wrong with the horse. hope this helps you. thanks ED HESS
