behaviour correction - good racehorse trainer
Question
hi. does horse behavior correction helps me to become a good racehorse trainer? would you really feel studying horses from scratch would make a very good racehorse trainer?"
Answer
Hello,
Thank you for your questions. I believe the more basic understanding of horse behavior that a person has the better trainer they will be, regardless of the type of horse trainer they are wanting to become. So, yes, I do think that studying horses from *scratch* can only help to make you a better racehorse trainer. The more horse knowledge you have, the better equipped you will be to recognize subtle changes in a racehorse's physical condition and attitude. You will be able to tell how each horse is handling the pressures of training and racing, both physically and mentally, as they are equally important. Being able to detect those differences will allow you to adjust the training, feeding and other care regimes to maintain peak-performance in your horses. It will also help you recognize those horses which do not belong at the racetrack, thereby saving you and your owners a lot of time and money and said horses, a lot of despair.
I hope that answers your questions.
Best wishes to you,
Maureen Millen
