milk for racehorses in morning
Question
hello sir, 30 years back, at our local racetrack, an experienced trainer used to provide 2.5 to 3 liters of milk early in the morning like how kids are provided with milk before they go to play in the morning. after an hour, he used to exercise them. is this a correct procedure? would 2.5 to 3 liters be sufficient for a horse to get exercised exercised or it is too heavy for them?
Answer
hi -- i am not sure about feeding milk to the race horses. i have never heard of it, but people do feed horses lots of different things to see how they work.. milk has calcium in it and other vitamins, so it might be good for them. i have never given my horses milk so i cannot give you a personal opinion. thanks ED HESS
