Horse Hitting hock
Question
QUESTION: i have a racehorse that when she jogs and gallop she doesnt hit her hock. during races she hit her hock and tear it all up can you give me any advise on what i can do? thank you in advance
ANSWER: hi jermine -- well when jogging or galloping she is not using too much of her speed, but when racing she will cross fire with the front shoes and hit the opp hock. if you can have your black smith change her shoes and spread her out in the front a bit, she should miss her hocks. if you do not think she is sore anywhere you can have a vet or physic come to the barn and read the horse. they can find out from the horse what is bothering the horse so you can correct the problem. hope that helps you.. thanks ED HESS

QUESTION: Okay, thank you mr. hess i will talk to my trainer and see if she already did this...during your 30 years of training did any of this ever happen tooo your horses and what usally make this happen to make them start hitting?
ANSWER: hi --- yes in my years of training i have had many horses that hit their hocks. there are many reasons a horse will hit the hock. some horses are sore and when racing they try to protect themselves by changing leads etc and they sometimes hit the inside of their hocks. a vet check might find where they are sore at. a sore back will cause them to change there natural way of moving in a race. also sore hocks and stifles problems are also a thought. sore feet will also cause this problem. so a vet check and if that doesn't help find the prob then i would have a physic come to your barn and give that horse a reading which will tell that person where the horse is having the prob. i have used physic's many times with great results. hope this helps you thanks Ed Hess

QUESTION: one last thing mr. hess when you say physic's its a horse physiologist?
Answer
hi -- no-- i mean a person that can read your mind like on all of the paranormal tv shows you see the people who hunt for ghosts etc. you can find one in the phone book and ask if they read animals first. if they do, then let them come to your stables or farm and read the horse. thanks ED HESS
