Answer hi -- well some horses are not made to be a race horse. some love to run and have the will to win. others are good jumpers or a great riding horse. after a short period of time the trainer will know if the horse is going to be a race horse or just a horse to ride or jump. owners have to decide whether or not to keep the horse in training or sell them off for other purposes. thanks ED HESS
