block heel shoe

block heel   hello sir, i believe that this is a blocked heel shoe. am i correct? if yes, may i know when to use this type of shoe in horse racing?

hi -- yes it looks like a block shoe, but not like the ones i use to use. it is used to prevent run downs in a race on both front and hind legs. remember that a block heel shoe will jar the horse a lot and may cause other problems in the future thanks ED HESS
