warming upto starting gates

Question
hello sir, may i know Why do horses need a warm up upto starting gates during the race?

Answer
Hi Rohit:

Just as is with human athletes, horses must start every training session with a warm-up. Just like us, horses need an introduction period to understand what is coming next and what will be expected of them. Warm up the horse's muscles, joints and mind with a brief warm up period every time they enter the starting gate.

You would not get off the couch and immediately go out and run - you would start by limbering up your muscles and stretching them so that you will not pull a muscle when you start your running.

I hope this answers your question and I would appreciate your giving me a rating.

Thanks again for your question.
