QuestionHi!
And thank you in advance for any help you may offer.
I am from Australia on the Central Coast at a suburb called Green Point, it's about 60klms North of Sydney. Absolutely Beautiful spot on the coast.
I am having trouble finding any documentation on what I have been told is a 1976 or there-abouts, 20 Hp Chrysler 2cylinder 2stroke outboard engin,
I was hoping to find a workshop manuel or something similar with pictures so I can identify my engin and the parts, any information on tuning would be of great assistance, especially timming, plug type and gap, point gap; carby settings (float level),etc. It is running at the moment although it is a bit hard to start,(could be fuel mixture) and using unleaded, as leaded (super or standard) is becomming more difficult to find, I have recently replaced a coil and condensor (under the flywheel) wich I was able to get from a Boat Wrecker secondhand.I have tested the Compression and it is almost spot-on 125-30psi on both cylinders. I have checked the reed valves and they appear to be fine,(no broken or damaged ones). The other problem is the general cable and wireing layout, someone before me has had a bit-of-a "Butchers" at it and I'am not sure how original it is. The Model No is: 204HG and serial No is:3757. I noticed it has what I think is a :12V regulator? Type Motorola
Model:R2C04 Serial No:249019.
I'am not sure if you call it a short shaft or long but the Leg mrasures about 3' or just under.
Once again, thank you for any help you can supply, it is very much appreciated.
regards
Steve Arrell.
AnswerSteve,
Thanks for contacting me!, I have several sources for outboard motor manuals, however I would be able to give you the sources until Tuesday evening after I return home from my service shop. I will gather up all the info at my shop and send it to you Tuesday evening.
