fuel gauges
Question
how do i fit a fuel guage sender to a tank without removing it. the tank is on a new jeanneau boat
Answer
Hi Steve
Thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.
Since the Jeanneau sailboat is "NEW", I'm surprised it's not already fitted with a fuel gauge. If the sending unit is malfunctioning, it ought to be covered under warranty and a local dealer should be obliged to refit a new sending unit, if that is all that is necessary. The value of the warranty was built into the price of the boat, so take advantage of what you've paid for, or so long as the warranty extends to you (1st or 2nd owner?).
I'm not familiar with the location of the sending unit on the boat's fuel tank, but would imagine it may not be necessary to remove the fuel tank, however, a dealer will be able to answer that question.
