Question
QUESTION: FIRST WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR A GREAT SERVICE YOU PROVIDE. HERE IS MY QUESTION I HAVE A 89 SEA RAY 268 SUNDANCER THAT I DECIDED TO UPGRADE MY TOLIET{OLDER I AM MORE IMPORTANT PORCYLEN IS} AND HAVE COMPLETED INSTAL EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHERE THE NEW WATER SUPPLY LINE I AM PUSHING IN THROUGHT THE CABINET IN BATHROOM TRYING TO GET TO THE ENGINE ROOM. CAN YOU PROVIDE A PLACE TO GET A SCHEMATIC OF COMPARTMENTS OR SOMETHING TO TELL ME WHERE THIS HOSE IS GOING? ALSO I HAVE ALREADY LOOKED THROUGH SEA RAY WEBSITE WITH NO AVAIL. THANKYOU THANKYOU FOR THIS HAS BEEN A CRAPPY EXPERIANCE
ANSWER: Hi Lee...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.
I'm confused. Why was it necessary to install a new fresh water hose line? Usually, water for the head's sink, shower, and toilet is supplied via the fresh water holding tank, which is often located in the bilge area of the main salon. For example, the tank may be underneath a bench seat.
I recommend locating and consulting a nearby SeaRay dealer who might have a schematic you're seeking, or they can order one.

QUESTION: the old toliet on the boat was a cheap all in one systm. the only thing they did right with it was to put a pump out plate on the deck. so i decided i wanted a real toliet and have installed the jabsco toliet/manual flush. the old toliet had no fresh water line t it only a discharge line wich led to deck plate. in the directions on the new toliet it says not to hook up to existing fresh water system on the boat for fear of contamination. i would much prefer to connect tolet to my water system for the sanitary reasons if nothing else.what is your opionion on this. and if you think it can be hooked up that way would i be able to attach the toliet up to the existing plumbing system to the bathroom sink? reason im asking is the water system has a water pump as you know for pressure and the toliet is not electric it is manual flush where you actualy use a handle and pump the flushing of waste. wouldnt the vacuum i am going to create while pumping going to damage the water system?
Answer
Hi Lee
First of all, it is illegal to discharge waste of any kind directly overboard and into the water, including toilet waste. It must be directed into a waste holding tank, which can be pumped out when necessary.
I presume the new toilet is designed to manually draw in raw lake water but, where is the waste discharged to? If you were able to hook up the current pressurized water supply to the new toilet and manually draw water from your onboard fresh water supply system, hopefully, the hand pump has a one-way valve that prevents any backup of waste water being transferred back into the fresh water holding tank. Also, manually pumping water into the toilet from the fresh water holding tank should not damage the tank or system. The tank is vented, so it won't collapse. The waterline is pressurized by the electric pump, so it ought not to be affected.
Not being able to see the toilet, and its schematics, I'm a little handi-capped to offer any valid advice. I'd consult a local and reliable boat repair facility and obtain their opinion.
