Tugboat License

Mr. Blanchet,
I have lived in Alabama on the Tennessee River all my life (54 yrs) and would like to know how I go about getting a license to operate a tugboat.  Captained paddlewheel boats in my younger years and am now looking for a career change. Are there job opportunities in this area?

I'm in Ontario, Canada, and have no idea what the requirements might be in the U.S. for you to achieve desired results. Best you consult the Coast Guard. I'm confident they'll provide appropriate guidance.
