Boat leaning to the right under full throttle

Hi,

Only new to boating. We have bought a 5.2m 1/2 cabin with a 115 hp 6cyl mercury brownband. When travelling under plane speed, the boat stays even. When it is on the plane, it leans up to about 20 degrees to the right. It has a stainless steel prop, 17 degrees I think. What is wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks!

Most boats will list to one side or another primarily because of uneven weight distribution of people, fuel, fresh/waste water holding tanks, gear and equipment.

On the other hand, water may be accummulating on one side of the bilge area below the floor (sole) of the boat, and it's not visible. The source could be rain water or from damage to the hull below the waterline, or even osmosis.

If you're having trouble steering straight, there's a little silver-grey fin underneath the cavitation plate which may need adjustment. When the boat runs straight without touching the steering wheel, the fin is properly adjusted. It may take a few attempts at first, but have patience.
