Is this a rare boat??

I just recently purchesed a 1973 fiber form 22 1/2 ft boat. The boat has a 302 merc 188 horse power with a 888 merc stern drive. Is this boat rare?? or just not a popular boat. I just havent heard of or seen others like it. Also the motor has an aluminum elderbrock street dominator intake and a holly double pump 4 barell carb. Did this set up come stock on this motor ??? Or has this been added afterwards??

Fibreform boats were quite popular in the late 60's to the mid 80's, and were an exceptionally heavy but well built and stable boat, and off hand, I can't recall when they ceased operation.

The motor has likely been rebuilt, and as you have described, was definitely modified.

Next time the boat is hauled out for whatever reason, and given its year, have a qualified and reliable marine surveyor check the hull, stringers, and decking with a moisture meter to determine the extent of any osmosis. Also, check the alignment of the keel to ensure it isn't wavy from side to side or humped up and down.
