paint on rubber rollers
Question
I took my boat trailer to get it painted. My trailer doesn't have bunks but hard rubber rollers for all support.I think they are hard rubber. This trailer is about 30 years old (good shape)but needed the paint.
The shop painted the roller mounts but also painted the rollers with a
epoxy black paint. Do they need to replace the rollers or is there something that can be used to get this paint off without damage to the rollers. I don't want this hard paint scratching the gel coat if it can't all be removed. It has to be removed as it is the wrong color and I am restoring the trailer and 1966 model SEA RAY BOAT/
Thank You,
Dale
Answer
The rollers flex and if you take something and push in and out the coating may just flake off. After cracking the coating as much as possible I would use a pressure washer with hot water to finish the job. I think that this will work for you. www.boat-bottom-paint.com
