time trial handle bars for road biking and clipless pedals
Question
Hi, i have been roadbiking for almost half a year and own a trek 1000. recently i've been diagonsed with a disease in my wrist that makes it painful and unhealthy to put pressure on the wrist. Would using time trial handle bars be helpful? and if so would i be better off buying attachable bars or an entire new set which includes the time trial bars welded on? The 1000's shifters are attached to the bars, so if that is the case would i need to buy new components? Also at what point should a rider get clipless pedals? Do they offer any benifit, and do they need to be sized to fit the crank arms?
Answer
Hey, I really do think that the clip-on bars will help you out a lot with your wrist injury. A really nice pair are Syntace C2s. I would recomend getting them. As for the clipless pedles, I think every rider should have them. I think they are really nice. Just when you do get them be really carful because sometimes you get stuck and fall over and thats not good. It happened to me a lot. And for sizing, I don't really think they need to be sized to fit your cranks. I could be wrong. I hope that helped you out Greg.
