Hello
A couple of more questions, are all pedals the same, as far as size[attaching them to the bike]? I think I saw 15mm. I just wanted to be sure. Also, could you recommend any locks, something that would go through both wheels, the frame, the seat and maybe the handlebars?

Hello again, Are there any special models you would recommend, pedals or shoes[recessed cleat]? Is there a clipless pedal that I could use with regular shoes or would I have to change pedals, and how long does that take? What about cleats, are they included with the shoes?

I recently bought a Giant Sedona dx and I was planning to do longer rides occasionally, 10 miles or more.
My question is about clipless pedals, I was looking at Shimano M515, which don't look like you could use them with regular shoes, but I'd be using regular pedals
most of the time. I'm also looking for bike shoes. Any suggestions on what combinations to buy? Also, what tools would I need to replace the pedals?

Hi!

any shimano / shimano combination is good, but maybe a bit expensive.  I would suggest sticking to shimano for pedals, and look for Specialized shoes, that are very affordable.

As for the tool, you need only one tool, and it's specialy designed to change pedals.  You should be able to buy one for less then $10.00 at your local bike shop...

you should look at the PD-M424.  They would be perfect with regular shoes, and clipless shoos. No need to flip pedals around.

yes, nowadays all pedals for mtn bikes are the same...

For locks, the minute you step out of the good old 'U' locks, it's  risk.  Unless you go for something like the Rapper Lock from specialized:
