road bike tread

Michael,
i currently have specialized mondo tread on my bike and i got a flat due to a small piece of glass in my back tire. the glass poked a small hole all the way through the tread and there are also two other small gashes in the tire. i was wondering if i should replace the back tread or can i still ride on it (i currently have about 1000 miles on these tires). also what kind of tread would you reccomend getting in the future.

Hello John,

When you are very glad with those tyres you certainly can buy them again.
Some glass can puncture through the whole tread, but can't hurt your innertube, but only when the hole isnt'too big.
When it is 1-2 mm it is normal.
When you want to replace, you can take a armadillo version, it it more puntureresistant but also with the same comfort as your old tyres.
