shimano tiagra vs 105
Question
H Michael,
could you tell me about the major differences in these components please? I seem to be getting mixed reviews by bike shops. I plan to buy a bike to ride road in triathlons. I will be riding 2-4 times per week depending on the season. One ride will be a long ride and the others about 30k or less. I will be entering about 2 or 3 triatlons next summer in the sprint category, which includes a 20-30k bike segment. Will Tiagra gearing be durable enough? and how will it shift? or is it more worth it to go up to 105? Thanks.........peter
Answer
Hello Peter,
For these competition you can use Tiagra, but better will be 105. Because the parts like chain/cassette's will be better in shiftingquality. When you ride much more than the distances you propose, you should be better use Ultegra or maybe Campagnolo Centaur.
I'll hope that will be your answer your curiosity.
Kind regards and do your best in this competition
Mike
