Hi! I sm pretty new to golf but i am very athletic.  I actually picked up the game pretty quickly and I usually score in the 90's. Im 20yrs old 5'7 130 lbs and I just bought a Cobra 3 wood ladies flex. I am now nervous that I should have bought a regular flex.  I guess I just really do not know how to shop for clubs and I was wondering If you think a ladies flex will be okay or will it hold me back?

Sorry for the delay, I've been a well needed vacation.

I'm not sure what you are currently playing (shaft flex)with now, but it seems you're on your way, and doing nicely.

What I can say is based on the provided info. the ladies flex won't necessarily hold you back from improving...its the importance of getting the right flex fit from your output (swing), and that can only be measured through a hands on fitting session from your local qualified professional. Now with that being said, based on your height and athletic abilities, you may want to look into a men's senior flex. Given your height, a men's club is about 1/2"-1" longer than a ladies club.

There's certainly no "cookie cutter" answer. It's what will be best in the feel and performance suited to your swing through a fitting session. And there is so many more options out there than there was 20 years ago. I wish there wasn't such a label as a ladies flex, because some of the slower or smoother swinging men I've fitted should be in such a shaft, but their ego just can't get past the fact of getting better performance from a "ladies shaft". In my opinion, it's what is going to prove best for the individual. Case in point..FYI...I personally play and have always played Men's Steel Shaft irons in regular
flex, with my woods being a  Men's firm flex graphite shaft. Why, well in my case it's best suited for my swing.
