Ladies Golf Clubs
Question
My wife is a relatively new high handicap golfer. She is 5'9" and thinks that her "beginner" clubs are too short for her. However, it may be that they are just poor clubs. She finds her hybrid clubs and woods easier to hit than her irons. I am looking to buy her a new set of irons for Christmas and was looking at the Ping G5Ls. Would you have any recommendations? Should I be considering mens rather than ladies clubs? Thanks.
Answer
Dear Ron,
Your wifes' comfort with the longer clubs is not unusual, although she is not extremely tall, she is tall enough to be a perfect candidate for a set of Mens' Senior Clubs. The shaft flex is the same as womens and the extra inch will do wonders for her comfort level, which in turn will most likely give her a more relaxed swing. As for Pings, I am confident of the quality of any of the leading brands, like Chevys and Fords, it is just whatever your preference is that counts. If it is not a suprise gift have her try out different clubs at a Driving range or retail store first, then if you want to save $100 look for them on e-bay! Another GREAT VALUE is the Cobra clubs, topline club with a middle line price...I do not sell clubs but Check out my website at www.walkersgolfventures.com turn your speakers on!
Enjoy your day and Happy Holidays
