Which tees does LPGA golfers use
Question
Do the LPGA golfers use the ladies tees or the mens tees for their tournaments?
Answer
Greetings David,
When a course is set up for any official tournament play, the tee boxes are re-arranged and the yardage is set according to the guidelines given by the tournament committee. More importantly, pin placements and yardage markers are given to, and verified by the player and their caddy prior to the practice rounds. This is done so both can develop a strategy plan and utilize proper club selection.
A few years ago, I played the LPGA International Course in Daytona beach. Now because it was the home of the LPGA, permanent teebox markers were set. These markers measured at about 6,400yds. Overall the ladies of the LPGA usually play courses set up from 6,300-6,600yds....give or take a bit.
Thanks for your question David.
Remember, keep it fun and in the fairway....from any teebox!
