Woman playing golf with a shoulder disability

Question
I have played golf for many years.  I have sustained a permanent disability to my right shoulder.  I have lost two of my muscles.  I am left handed but always played golf right handed.  How can I find an instructor to teach me how to use what I have to continue in the sport I love?

Answer
Hello Victoria,

I am sorry to hear about your injury,  I personally know one armed players that still enjoy the game and actually do pretty well, so you have a leg up on them,  or arm anyway.  Sorry I do not mean to be humorous but if you have any mobility with your right arm, you will do fine.  As you know it is a left handed game for right handed people. Check on pga.com and look for Pro Finder    when you find one in your area,  check with them about your hindrance and most will be able to help you. We have all been trained in teaching at different levels of mobility.   Go slowly,  if you have been golfing for a long time you might be your own best coach.  just do not rush it. be patient.

Good luck Victoria
