Question
Can you refer me to where in the PGA rules it says that it is o.k. to remind a player to place their ball back from another players line. I know the person that said it was not o.k. will want to know where in the rule book it says it is.
Another question: Is it o.k. to mark and pick up another players ball when it is your line of play and then who is to place the ball back in its original place, the payerl who marked it or the player the ball belongs to. thank you
Answer
Hello Peggy,
Question #1
If the Rule Book had contained all of the things that were OK to do, it would be a foot thick. That question is not covered, as I mentioned in my previous answer it is common decency as well as common sense and if any player or partner never reminded me, knowingly, I would never tee it up with them again. We live in a society and this is a game for ladies and gentlemen, if they can't beat me with their own game, and have to rely on petty un-true rules calls, (without a rule book!!!) I do not need to golf with them and the rules committee and or ladies club President should have a serious look at the situation as well. Golf is supposed to be fun !! See my website, it shows how!
Question #2
The answer to your second Question is Rule 20-1 and Rule 20-3 Whoever marks it has to replace it. The competitor may not be in that circle.
Have a great evening, we are having a beautiful lightning and thunder show here in Arizona!!!
