Golfers Pro book
Question
What information is in the booklets the Pro Golfers and caddies are always looking at during a round of golf?
Who prepares them?
Where can I get a look at one?
Thanks.
Answer
Dear John, thanks for the questions. That "booklet" might as well be the holy grail. It contains every inch of the the golf course regarding yardage. It is prepared typically by the players' caddy. They generally carry them from year to year for the same courses/tournaments but will re-check them EVERY year for subtle changes during one of their practice rounds. Frankly, they are awe-inspiring, with more details than you would every think necessary...seemingly down to the blade of grass. As for taking a look...try to go to a professional tournament sometime...practice rounds are a great time to say hello to caddies and players...not to mention at the driving range, also during the beginning of the week. Once the tourney starts though, they won't want to socialize much. Give it a shot sometime. The schedule of events can be found a pgatour.com. Good luck and remember...
Love the game,
Skipper
