back spin on a golf ball

Question
"How do you make a ball back spin on the green. Where do you place it in your stance, front, back or middle Do you use a different angle of decent then your normal swing. I have tried everyway I can think of possible and I can't accomplish this feat!!!! Should you be taking a divot, does it work better of a shaved fairway as compared to one not cut so short. Help much appreicated

Answer
One of the more important features of a shot with a wedge is "shaft angle"---Mind now I do not mean "lie" angle--The stance and set up should be for a maximum distance with a particular wedge,  with the hands ahead/forward of the clubhead---This could be a 70 yard shot with a sand wedge--If you are using a lob wedge and you want a very high soft lob you set up with your ball placement that will have your hands behind the clubhead and the ball --[this shot must be aggressive]---For maximum back spin with a lob wedge the shaft must be verticle---Ball in the middle between your feet, center of the clubface impact and again a very aggressive shot---Lob and short high shots with any of the wedges can not be struck easy even the ones that have your hands behind the ball at setup---If you are chipping and running the ball from just off the green, you again have the hands ahead of the ball---On this shot the clubhead never is permitted to pass the hands---Keep in mind on these the easier you are going to impact the ball on a chip and run, the farther back toward your right side you must place the ball--[for the right handed player]

Review, max spin, verticle shaft agggressive through the ball---The longer distance you need the farther toward your right side you place the ball on set up for the full swing--
