scores
Question
Is there an etiquette to how scores are shown on the leaderboard? For example, say 5 players are tied at 4 under. Is there a rule to determine the order in which their names should be listed?
Answer
Hi Wade,
The networks decide. It's not a rule that is followed exactly the same way from event to event. But in general, the player farthest along in his/her round is listed first among those with the same score. So, for example, Jones was -5 through 13 and Brown and Johnson were -5 through 9; Jones would be listed first on the leaderboard. You may have noticed that the top players like Tiger and Phil get listed first within a scoring category. I think the networks believe the higher they can show the more popular players, the more interest they will create in the viewers.
Hope my answer is what you were looking for.
