Before I can answer your question I need to know if your son wishes to work in the golf business or if wishes to be a player. If he is looking to be a player then he should complete exams so he can have the opportunity to be recruited to play collegiate golf.
If he is looking to work in the golf industry I cannot recommend any specific golf colleges because they are not affiliated with the PGA. But he should consider completing his exams because there are several universities in the US which have programs that are developed in cooperation with the PGA that can fast track his career in the industry.
But if he is set on not completing his exams he should consider trying to get a position with at a facility with a PGA Professional in the UK to get a good feel for the business and starting his apprenticeship. There is a vast difference between playing the game and working in the golf business because that is precisely what it is, a business.
Good Luck.
