HSS - pushes
Question
I've successfully used the Heard Super Swing for 3 years but have developed an erratic push/fade that is big trouble. In the past I always had that great "inside out" feeling and never had to worry about a push or fade. Now every round, I usually hit the first few fairways with solid contact but then the push happens later in the round. I've read the book and watched the video repeatedly and realize ball position is the key to pushes. But moving the ball forward doesn't seem to help. Can you tell me a good swing thought, or anything to address this.
I really have enjoyed great golf and reliable tee shots from the HSS but am very frustrated now.
Thank you so much.

Answer
Dear Jim,
Glad you are having good general success from the Super Swing method. I think your "fix" for the push problem is simpler than you might think. At address, just close the clubface a couple of degrees more than you do now. That's it.
As you know, your push comes from the club moving slightly from inside to outside and the clubface being square to that club path. By closing the face slightly more than you've been doing it (at address) you should see the ball starting slightly to the right of the target and then drawing back to the target.
Hope this proves to be the answer for you. It's a simple fix that should give you instant results without having to really change anything in your swing motion.
Best of luck,
