apprentice instructor
Question
Hi; I work at a golf course, as an attendant and would like to
know what does one have to do to be considered an apprentice instructor.
Answer
Hi Mark;
This is actually a simple process. The safest and correct way to do this is to, have a personal and private discussion with the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf at the facility you work at.
The real question is, why have you not done that already. If the club you work at employs a PGA Professional. He/She would be the person that you would ultimately report to for your work duties and assignments.
Also the PGA Professional would also ultimately be the one to initially approve you being able to enter into the PGA - GPTP Apprentice Program.
Please contact them for more information. I would go into more detail for you, but I am tentative to answer any further do to respect of the person/golf course you work for.
Should you not have a PGA Professional employed at your facility, then by all means contact PGA National Headquarters at 1.800.474.2776. They will assist you fully.
Sincerely
