swing path
Question
Hi Paul,
I too am having difficulty hooking the ball with the Heard Super Swing. I'll try your suggestion about the karate chop. I also was wondering if my swing path is a problem . The Heard Super Swing has different swing path from convention swings ,does it not ? Please explain.
Thank-you,
Steve
Answer
Hello Steve,
I apologize for not answering your question sooner.
The simple answer to your question is "not really different". The Super Swing promotes a better swing path than a lot of players may have been using but it's not different than any good player's swing path.
Because you are swinging around a stable center, your swing path should naturally arc to the inside in the backswing and set up an INSIDE TO SQUARE, TO INSIDE path on the downswing and follow through. That's not different than most good players but it is different from the OUTSIDE TO INSIDE path that many slicing hackers use.
You may be hooking the ball because you are coming too far from the inside on your downswing and/or you might be releasing your wrist cock too early on the downswing. Remember...since you have gripped the club with a very strong grip at address, you need to delay the feel of the wrist release until after you sense impact.
I hope this is clear to you and again, I apologize for taking so long to answer. I read your question a couple of days ago but forgot to answer it until this morning.
Good luck.
Best wishes,
