Question
My Headshot
I was working on a Word Search Puzzle with the theme of golf. "Deeds" and "System" were two words in the puzzle. Because I have no idea what relationship these two words have with golf, I thought it would be good for me to ask. So. Could you inform me what these two words have to do with golf? Thanks.
AnswerHI James;
Well, you have definitely come up with a partial quandry.
You might have to redo that word search puzzle.
The only thing I could think of AFTER all of my recollection and research was they were referring to the deeds for a golf course. Might want to contact the word search puzzle company on that one.
Surely you have had some sort of dirty "deeds" played on you at the golf course between golfers, or even by the golf course playing one on you itself, i.e, losing a ball in the middle of the fairway. And we all know and have probably experienced playing behind the group that took 6 hours to play. I guess in those cases it would have been a dirty deed to put you behind that group.
As far as the word system goes...there are many types of systems for golf. Golf Club Manufacturers have been using systems for years regarding golf equipment. Several instructors use a specific type of system to teach the golf swing. And Golf Courses, use many different types of systems that allow them to manage the day to day business and maintenance of the golf course itself. Golf is business that generates billions of dollars annually, so yes there are systems.
Another thing that came to mind on the word system was for tournament handicapping. "System 36" is a same-day handicapping system similar in function to Callaway and Peoria. It allows golfers who do not have a handicap index to play golf tournaments and compete for low-net titles or prizes. The "handicap" is determined following the round according to System 36 structures.
Well that's all I have. Sorry for the humor up top, but I just couldn't resist. My brain is foggy now, I had to go through 51 years of playing golf and 30+ years of being a professional to get the answers correct.
Hope this helps.
Happy Golfing and Have a Great Day.
