Ping Sand Wedge angle

Question
Eddie, I have a 20 yard gap between my Ping Eye2 wedge and my Ping Eye2 sand wedge.  I believe the wedge is at 50 degrees but I'm having trouble determining the angle for the sand wedge so a can purchase a club with an angle between the two.  Could you help??  Thanks

Answer
Hey Darwin:
First, let's check to make sure the degrees of loft are uniformed.  The standard Ping wedges are as follows (I'm talking about degrees of loft):  Pitching wedge: 48, Gap Wedge: 52, Sand Wedge: 56, Lob Wedge: 60.  See what I mean by uniformed.  Notice 4 degrees difference between each club.  If your wedge is 50 degrees and your sand wedge is 56, you have quite a gap between those clubs.  However, Ping's are very easy to bend, so you need to go to a club repair place and have them check the lofts and the lies on your wedges.  Have them take the wedge down to 48, then go buy yourself a Gap wedge at 52 and a lob wedge at 60 degrees.  You don't have to use all 4 of them at once, but it helps to be able to put the "Scoring clubs" in your bag for whatever course you are playing.  I use 3 or 4 wedges, depending on the course I am playing.  It helps alot to have the degrees sequenced between the wedges.  Good luck, and better scoring!
