Tee Box marking

QUESTION: I would like to know the importance of aligning the tee box markers.  I would also like to know how most people are doing this now.

Dear Matthew, thanks for getting back...I'm not sure what happened because I did not hear from you until today, but your response to me is dated earlier.  In any event, the tee-markers and their relationship to the pin and fairway is truly left to the discretion of the greenskeeper.  As you know, many will use the tee markers to direct a player to the best placement in the fairway, while others direct you to the pin.  It really doesn't matter, as long as you are aware in advance.  Personally my experience is to ignore them (except to notice that I am indeed behind them) and aim where I would like.  Often I find them to create a false illusion of where my shot should go, so I make a distinct effort to create my own line and vision.  Nothing worse than a greenskeeper in a bad mood...who knows where he'll aim you.  Good luck, thanks again for asking and remember...
