QuestionI have been playing golf ever since i was 8, i am 25 now. in highschool i was a 4 handicap my junior and senior years. i gave the game up for 2 years after highschool. I am an 8 handicap now. My question is: how do you keep from cutting across the ball? i am cutting across the ball at every swing it doesnt hurt my irons but i have a nasty slice with the driver. i hit my 3 wood just fine too. i want to be able to use the driver and this cutting across is making me slice. if you could id like you to send your answer to my email
[email protected]. thx Mike
AnswerHi, I read about your email reply, however I would like to keep it through this web site and Answerway.com (my other site) to maintain confidentiality, thank you for your understanding.
It is a common problem to slice and cut across the longer woods more than the shortter irons because of the length of the swing and the distance the clubhead has to travel for each. In addition, it is hard to slice a SW even if you cut across it because of the loft... it is always easier to work balls with lower lofted clubs. I apologize if I am telling you anything that is too basic since you are an advanced player, but I want to make sure I do not omit any basics of my answer so that we do not go back and forth.
