Signed the wrong score (more than actual)
Question
hi there
on saturday i was playin in a medal and for some reason the guy markin my card made so many errors and had to correct him..we did all that but added up wrong and i signed for a 73 instead of a 72..i later asked the marker we went over the scores after card handed in and agreed it was 72..is there any way u can alter a score signed for more instead of less as this is clearly not cheating..it affects my handicap so it is important..as im off scratch..cheers
Answer
Hi Riyaz,
If the round was in an official tournament, that score stands for the tournament. Had you actually scored more than the score you signed, you would be disqualified.
I would think you can ask your pro or club captain to change the score for handicap purposes.
Always best to write down your score hole by hole as it occurs. Check with your marker after nine to make sure you agree.
Hope this helps.
